On 8–9 October 2026, the annual workshop of the #avataResponsibility project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC), took place at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Bucharest. This year’s theme was “Virtues without Borders: Humans, Avatars and Collective Agents.”

The workshop was wonderfully organized by Mihaela Constantinescu and her team!

"The avataResponsibility project focuses on ascriptions of agency and moral responsibility in emergent avatar communities. Personal avatars can be coupled with AI technologies to the extent that human users do not control them in real time. This raises new challenges in terms of agency ascriptions, moral responsibility, and (dis)enhancement of human capabilities." https://avataresponsibility.ccea.ro
